Fencing Club in Victoria Texas? « Thread Started on Feb 2, 2009, 12:18pm »
Hello. I don't know if this is the right place, but I was trying to find out if there were any fencing clubs near Victoria, Texas. I have had about a year of classes off and on, not a heavy competitor.

fox is right. I don't hear a lot from them but the Coastal Bend Fencing Society in Robstown, just west of Corpus Christi would be the closest club to you...
...or you could try your hand at organizing a fencing club in Victoria.

Are you sure? My dad says he first started fencing when he was a student at UH-Victoria? I suppose the club could've foundered, but it might be worth a second look.

My old buddy, Steve Hardin, is a professor at the college there. He was the High Priest for the SWT Fencing Society back in the '70s.
You might get in touch with him about getting some fencing started down there. He's probably still crazy (and blood-thirsty) enough to sponsor a club. Especially if you want to play at Sabre.

We are looking for a foil coach to sponsor in the United States. We are opening a club in Victoria,Texas and need a coach who can bring young fencers up to a highly competitive level. Would you please help us to find a place to post our ad so that we can find a coach?
